IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
SAXE-WEIMAR-EISENACH: Karl August, 1758-1815, BI 6 pfennig, 1760, KM-109.1, Cr-38, mintmaster initials FS, a lovely lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1760, Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach was under regency rule by Duchess Anna Amalia for her young son Karl August during the Seven Years' War. Though impacted by the war’s pressures, the duchy stayed mostly peaceful and began developing the intellectual and cultural environment that would later define Weimar’s golden age.
