IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.
SHU: Anonymous, 221-265, AE cash (5.3g), H-11.21, tai ping bai qian ("Taiping one hundred cash"), in ornate folding script, star and waves pattern on reverse, graded 78(03) by GBCA Grading Company, repaired, Fine, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection. The Tai Ping Bai Qian coin was at first attributed to Sun Liang of Eastern Wu, who adopted a Tai Ping year title in 256. Most of them, however, have been unearthed in Sichuan (in one instance in a tomb dated to 227) together with Zhi Bai coins, which, together with the incuse marks on the reverse, indicates that they are issues of Shu-Han Dynasty.
