SIKH EMPIRE: AR nanakshahi rupee (10.86g), VS1881, KM-—, Herrli-—, generally in the style of Amritsar, but with an unread mint name in the upper panel of the reverse, bold strike, VF to EF, RRR,
ex M.H. Mirza Collection.

With cross-like symbols on obverse & reverse, unrecorded by Herrli. This is the first example of this type we have seen.

Due to the unusual background symbols and calligraphy, we believe that this piece is likely a contemporary imitation, or some sort of unofficial issue or emergency issue during troubled times.
