SPANISH MOROCCO: AE medal, The Order of Hassania, Officer (Litizas) Class IV with original ribbon, XF, ex Joseph E. Lang Collection. The Order of Hassania (Orden de la Hassania or Wissam al-Hassaniya), established in the Spanish Protectorate of Morocco in 1949 and obsolete by 1956, was structured into several classes, often referred to by Arabic titles in their respective, generally masculine, divisions. It was awarded to both Spanish and Moroccan military officers and civilians for distinguished service within the Spanish zone. It was issued in several classes, including a Commander medal, and was made obsolete around 1956 after Morocco gained full independence.
