KITTS: George III, 1760-1820, AE black dogg (1½ pence) (1.81g), ND [1801], KM-2, Pridmore-5, countermark "S.K." for St. Kitts on French Colonies (Cayenne/Guiana) billon 2 sous of Louis XVI, Fine on worn host. The Spanish Colonial dollar in circulation was subdivided into 72 black doggs, each valued at 1½ pence. Around 1801, the black dogg coins were countermarked on French Guianan 2 sous for circulation in the Islands.
