SUMATRA: Anonymous, LOT of 17 coins, ca. 11th-14th centuries, cf. Zeno-310220, including 2 billon and 15 AE examples of the Jambi lion type (some more coppery than others), various weights between 10.78g and 3.21g (most between 8g and 5g), all showing lion walking left on obverse, and head of lion left on reverse; most quite worn, a few with reasonably clear devices; retail value $500, lot of 17 pieces. These coins are examples of a newly discovered type from central Sumatra called Jambi lion coins. Very little is known about their historical background. See Zeno-310216 for a discussion on this type.
