SWITZERLAND: Bern, AE medal, 1897, Richter-234b, Martin-149, 45mm, by F. Homberg, issued for the 1897 cantonal shooting festival, statue of Adrian von Bubenberg (by M. Leu in 1897), his name and dates around // bear of Bern left, supple brown patina, PCGS graded Specimen 63. Adrian von Bubenberg was a knight and the mayor of Bern in the 1460's-70's. He is remembered for leading the defense of Morat (Murten) during a 12-day siege by the Duchy of Burgundy and defeating them at the subsequent battle on June 22, 1476.
