TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, cast large tin coin (38.57g), Robinson—, 68mm, mythical hintha bird facing left, with tail rising above and holding a 3-leaf branch in its beak, 10 pellets below the beak & 17 pellets beneath the tail // stylized Burmese text, based on Robinson text B1, but with square Burmese letters; one small corrosion spot in the obverse center, fine style, extra Burmese letter atop the reverse and what appears to be the Burmese numeral "5" behind the hintha's tail; 2 natural casting flaws, lovely EF, RRR. Still unpublished, the only two recorded examples appearing in our Auction 35, Lot 1867 and Auction 33, Lot 1009 (fine style).
