TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, cast large tin coin (59.96g), Robinson-18 (Plate 10.1), 69mm, mythical hintha bird facing right, Burmese legend around, which means "city of great happiness" // knotted dragon above the sea, one natural casting flaw, appears to have been somewhat weakly cast, cast from the same mold as Lot 1002 in our Auction 33, bold VF, RRR. The obverse was published by Elizabeth Moore, "Dawei Buddhist culture: a hybrid borderland," in Myanmar Historical Research Journal, vol. 21 (June 2011), different reverse die as her illustrated example.
