TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th/18th century, cast large tin coin (78.22g), Robinson-, 68.6mm; the mekkara (mythical fish) right, elegantly engraved // 3-line Burmese legend (different from all previously published types), unpublished type and of the greatest rarity and of finer quality than the other examples sold in our previous auctions, lovely EF, RRR. Fourth known example (plus one in a museum); the other three were sold in our auctions 39, 40, and 45; appears to have been cast from the same molds as Lot 1288 in our Auction 39.
