THAILAND: LOT of 9 AR tok nan, ca. 17-19th centuries, Krisadaolarn-B101, debased silver issue from the region of Nan in northern Thailand, most weighing between 50g and 65g; retail value $500, lot of 9 pieces, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection. These issues are on average 35-45% silver, with the rest mostly of copper and some lead. The yellow and red stains are said to come from light gold leaf, though traditionally, and probably incorrectly, assigned to a mix of egg yolk and chicken blood.
