TIBET: AR kong par tangka (5.46g), year 13-46 (1792), Cr-60.1, YZM-31, 26.22mm, "pointed date arch," order of emblems reversed on reverse, PCGS graded VF35, RR, ex George Anderson, Nicholas Rhodes Collections (Spink Auction 21 Aug 2013 Lot 153). The Second issue of Kong Par tangkas: The coins of this type stand out by having a pointed date arch on the obverse. Although dated 13-46, it is believed that these coins were struck in about AD 1840. It is very difficult to find coins from this group which are in very fine or better condition. We are only aware of two further specimens of this very rare variety: one in the British Museum (bequest of Carlo Valdettaro de la Rocchetta) and the one illustrated by Yin Zheng Min as no. 31. In recent years modern forgeries of this variety were discovered in Lhasa.
