TIBET:LOT of 7 silver rupees, Kangding mint, struck circa 1939-42, Szechuan-Tibet trade issue, large portrait of the Chinese emperor Guang Xu with collar // vertical rosette at center, Chinese inscription, si chuan sheng zao ("made in Sichuan"), branches with cusps and flowers around, many minor varieties in this lot, average circulated quality, retail value $500, lot of 7 coins. With portrait of Guang Xu derived from the British Indian rupee of Queen Victoria. For use by the lamas of Litang Lamasery which today is located in the southwest part of the Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
