TIMURID (MUGHAL): Muhammad Humayun, 1530-1556, AR light shahrukhi (3.88g), Urdu, AH952, A-G2464, overstruck on Kamran, Qandahar, date obscured by the countermark, type #I2464.2, apparently unpublished and of the highest rarity, Very Fine, RRR. Humayun declared his independence in Qandahar, probably early 952 or very late in 951, and resumed his attack against Kamran, who was still ruling in Kabul. However, Humayun's siege of Kabul proved a dismal failure, and Kamran retook Qandahar as well, either very late in 952 or in 953. Given the chronology of the year AH952, this shahrukhi is very likely an issue of Humayun rather than Kamran.
