This type was struck at the Trivandrum Mint (Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala). These Travancore 1937 one fanam coins were produced using imported English coin presses from melted foreign silver. The Trivandrum Mint used dies supplied by the Birmingham Mint (Heaton & Sons) in 1937-1938.
