TRIPOLI: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, AR 10 para (2.33g), Tarabulus Gharb, AH1243, KM-—, UBK—, dated with the actual Hijri year rather than the accessional dated 1223 of Mahmud II, thus far published only for the 40 para denomination, same reverse style but different obverse type (KM-193, UBK-117.15), lightly gilt, finest style, possibly a pattern for a type never produced for circulation, superb EF, RRR. AH1243 corresponds to regnal year 20 or 21. On both sides, the style and design is identical to issues with the accesional year 1223 instead of the actual date: 30 para year 20 (KM-179, UBK-118-05), 20 para year 20 (KM-164, UBK-119-04), and 10 para year 19 (KM-154, UBK-121-08).
