UMAYYAD: AE fals (0.83g), al-Juzjan, AH11x, A-J203, citing the governor 'âmir bin 'ubayda on the obverse, mint & date on the reverse, date perhaps AH112 but the final digit is not sufficiently clear; 2nd known specimen (first sold in our Auction 53, lot 165), partially double-struck, crude VF-XF. There was an official named 'Amir b. 'Ubayda al-Bâhili, who served as the chief judge at Basra AH120-126, but we have found no evidence that this judge might have earlier been a governor in Khurasan.
