UMAYYAD: AE fals (1.74g), NM, ND, A-205U, see Zeno-291946 for further information, in the name of al-Junayd (b. 'Abd al-Rahman), who was viceroy of Khorasan 729-734, with Sogdian monogram or tamgha in the obverse center and short Sogdian word in the reverse center; crude strike as always, crude VF, RRR. This type is always without mint & date, and was likely struck in the eastern regions under al-Junayd, presumably somewhere in Tukharistan or Badakhshan.
