UMAYYAD OF SPAIN: al-Hakam II, 961-976, AE "dirham" (1.70g), Madinat al-Zahra, AH350, A-352B, struck from well-engraved dies, with the name of 'Amir (sic), about 20% flat strike, squarish flan, VF-XF, RR. This type of copper or billon "dirhams" are likely the earliest issues of the handus, produced in Spain for nearly 200 years to serve as fractional denominations.
