LOUIS 1904 below, R, ex Jeff Shevlin Collection. Official Souvenir medals were struck at the United States Mint Exhibit on the fair grounds. They were designed by George Morgan and his initial M appears at the base of Jefferson’s shoulder. Morgan was later the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, and is most famous for designing the Morgan dollar.
