UNITED STATES: AE medal, 1904, Kreuger-18, Forrer VI:427, H-30-90, 75x66mm bronze award medal for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition at St. Louis, Missouri by Adolph Alexander Weinman; Columbia holds US flag behind her with Louisiana at side and radiant sunrise behind with VNIVERSAL EXPOSITION - SAINT LOVIS VNITED STATES OF AMERICA around and M.C.M.IV in exergue, all on central medallion on stars and stripes shield // spread eagle with head left and 2 dolphins below with central cartouche inscribed GRAND PRIZE / LOVISIANA PVRCHASE / EXPOSITION, all on medallion on stars and stripes shield, a lovely mint state example! PCGS graded MS63. Adolph A. Weinman would go on to design the very popular Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
