UNITED STATES: AE medal, ND (ca. 1862), De Witt-WHH-G3, 34mm copper medal, "MAJ. GEN. W. H. HARRISON / BORN FEB. 9, 1773" around military bust of Harrison to the left // RELIGION OUR SAFEGUARD / TEMPERANCE OUR SHIELD in outer legend around "SABBATH / SCHOOL / JUBILEE / JULY 4 / 1842" at center, struck circa 1862, a lovely lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS63. There is a statement in the 1864 McCoy Sale to the effect that 3 medals each were originally struck in silver, brass, copper nickel, copper and white metal.
