UNITED STATES: Bryan dime (31.86g), 1896, Schornstein-326, 44mm Bryan money, FREE SILVER at top, ONE / DIME within wreath in center, and 1896 at bottom // BRYAN / MONEY, raised rims with borders of dots, obverse rim nick, flaw in reverse field, cast in type metal (mostly lead), partially engrailed edge, VF-EF. Bryan money was a form of communication. Many pieces were sold as tokens for attending political rallies. Production techniques varied, resulting in many versions with variations of thickness, weight, and content. These are reminders of the 1896 Presidential election, where William McKinley beat William Jennings Bryan.
