UNITED STATES: Bryan money, 1896, Schornstein-353, 45mm white metal Bryan money token, donkey-headed goose standing left with P O P inscribed on body with IN / BRYAN / WE / TRUST in upper right field and UNITED SNAKES OF AMERICA around // ONE / DAM with "FREE SILVER - 1896" around, variety with thinner (21/2 mm) flan, reeded edge, NGC graded MS62. Bryan was the Democratic candidate for President in 1896 and 1900. He ran against William McKinley in both races. His platform included a gold and silver standard backing the currency, versus the then-current gold standard.
