VIETNAM: NGUYEN DYNASTY (ANNAM): Bao Dai, 1926-1945, AV kim boi medal (14.90g), Sylvester-2/B/1, 46 x 64mm, 4 tiên weight, Order of Kim Bôi 1st Class, made with two pieces of repoussé gold, quynh dao vinh hay // bao dai nien tao ("Fine jade is eternally beautiful // Made during the reign of Bao Dai") within center rectangle, flanked by two phoenixes and clouds, flaming pearl above, auspicious symbols below, a few faint hairlines, beautiful luster, UNC, RR. Bôi, meaning "pendant", was an oval medal awarded to women of merit. First instituted in 1889, this type of medal officially only has one class, though in two different sizes, with the larger model at 6 tiên and the smaller model at 4 tiên.
