IMPORTANT NOTE - The Buyer's Premium is now $20 per lot or 20% of the hammer price, whichever amount is greater. However, we have also reduced opening bids on lower value items to adjust for the new Buyer's Premium structure, so all-in costs are still very close to what they were in the past. This change in fee structure will allow us to continue to offer coins valued at less than $100 in addition to our higher value offerings. Contact us with any questions.

PCGS graded MS63 BN. William Price (1800-1893) was a Welsh physician and political activist best known for his support of Welsh nationalism, Chartism and involvement with the Neo-Druidic religious movement. Historians have characterized Price as one of the most significant figures in Wales during the Victorian era.On January 13, 1884, William Price, a medical doctor, socio-political activist and druid, cremated the body of his infant son, Iesu Christ, on a hill near Llantrisant, Wales, causing an outrage and the intervention of local police officers who dragged the corpse from the burning pyre. Price successfully defeated the charges brought against him, convincing the judge that cremation was not illegal. The case set a precedent allowing for the beginning of officially sanctioned cremation in Great Britain. This medal was one of 300 struck by Price to commemorate his victory.
