WARRING STATES: State of Han, 350-250 BC, AE spade money (5.43g), H-3.373, flat-handle square-foot spade type, qi bei in archaic script, small-size flan, Fine, ex Charles Opitz Collection. The State of Han was an ancient Chinese state that existed during the Warring States Period. It is located in what is now modern-day Shanxi and Henan. Its territorial holdings acted as a barrier preventing the passage of the state of Qin into the north, and as such resulted in many military conflicts in the region. The State of Han would be the first to fall to the State of Qin.
