WESTERN LIAO: AE Daoist pendant tablet (charm) (22.88g), cf. Zeno-109899 (64 x 21mm) copper/brass Daoist pendant tablet; stylized Chinese characters together with various secret magic Daoist symbols on each side, rectangular hole for suspension at the top; a similar piece was sold in our Auction 52, lot 1399, VF, RRR. Popular during the Liao period (circa 9th-12th century or slightly later). Two different examples have been published by Zheng Yiwei (CCC-1:2654/55) and incorrectly assigned to the Tang dynasty.
