WESTERN LIAO (QARA-KHITAY):, AE Daoist pendant tablet (charm) (20.87g), cf. Zeno-109899, 31 x 62mm copper/brass Daoist pendant tablet; stylized Chinese characters together with various secret magic Daoist symbols (somewhat different selection on each side), popular during the Liao period (circa 9th-12th century or slightly later), rectangular hole for suspension at the top, wonderfully well preserved, graded 78(07) by GBCA Grading Company, small natural casting defect, VF-XF, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection, ex Stephen Album Rare Coins Auction 37, Lot 1375. Two different examples have been published by Zheng Yiwei (CCC-1:2654/55) and incorrectly assigned to the Tang dynasty.
