WESTERN LIAO: temp. Yelu Dashi, 1124-1143, AE cash (4.80g), A-3488, ruler cited by the titles malik aram yinal qaraj in late Kufic Arabic script, graded 'Genuine' by GBCA Grading Company, Fine, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection. Yelü Dashi was the first ruler of the Western Liao dynasty of China, also known as the Qara-Khitay ("Black Cathay"). This type was called a Qarakhanid prototype, A-1510P, before new research. This type is often found in Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang Province in China.
