YABGHUS OF TOKHARISTAN: Phromo Kesaro, ca. mid-8th century, AR drachm (3.52g), "BHL" (Balkh), year "11", G—, cf. Zeno-83561, type imitating a normal drachm of Hormizd IV, mint of Balkh, year 11, but struck at undetermined eastern location in the early 7th century, countermarked human head on obverse margin and φoρo in Bactrian on reverse, very decent example for this type, choice VF, R. The king who calls himself Phromo Kesaro ('Caesar of Rome') has been identified with Fulin Jisuo (Sinicization of the same title), who was approved by the Chinese emperor Xuanzong in 738 as the succesor to his father, the Khorasan Tegin Shah, in Kabul. He issued a number of Arab-Sasanian-style silver and copper coins bearing this title.
