YUAN: "Da Guan", before 1280, AE cash (3.99g), H-19.7, FD-1067, blank reverse, narrow rims, some weakness, pleasing example, Fine to Very Fine, RR. This anonymous coin imitates the Da Guan issue of the Northern Sung Hui Zong, issues 1107-1110. The calligraphy of the Mongol issue is very different. The design of "Da" is very different, thicker and bulkier, the rim is much thinner, and the coin is much thinner and lighter. It was cast during the first twenty year of the Great Mongol Khubilai Khan (1260-1280) or shortly before.
