YUAN: Long Feng, rebel, 1355-1366, AE 3 cash (9.22g), H-19.132, small casting defect on obverse rim, VF, RRRR, ex Shèngbidébao Collection. Han Shantong, born in Yingzhou, Henan, was one of the early Red Turban rebellion leaders. He claimed to be the descendant of Emperor Huizong of Song (1082-1135), the last emperor of the Northern Song dynasty, and rebelled against the Mongol Yuan dynasty under the reign title of Long Feng. This is part of the so-called Dragon and Phoenix currency. A similiar specimen in Stephen Album Auction 21 Lot 884 sold for $1800.
