YUAN: Zhi Zhi, 1321-1323, AE temple coin (2.2g), Zeno-7753 (this example), zhi zhi yuan nian, final character nian (year) instead of bao, thus likely struck during the first year of his reign, one size smaller than Hartill-19.59, graded 75 by GBCA Grading Company, VG-F, ex Dr. Dirk Löer Collection, ex Stephen Album Auction 23, Lot 744, ex Shèngbidébao Collection. Gegeen Khan was an emperor of the Yuan dynasty. Apart from Emperor of China, he is regarded as the ninth Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, although it was only nominal due to the division of the empire. His personal name "Shidibala" was derived from the Sanskrit Siddhipala, meaning 'protector of the advanced state of supernatural perfection' (referring to the Buddhist concept of Siddhi) and his regnal name "Gegeen Khan" means "enlightened/bright khan" in the Mongolian language.
