ZIYARID: Mardawij, 927-935, AV dinar (3.46g), Mah al-Basra, AH322, A-1530, a lovely lustrous mint state example! NGC graded MS63. The Ziyarids were the first of the two major Daylamite dynasties to arise in north-central Iran, the other being the Buwayhids. The Ziyarids ruled circa 927-1090, principally in portions of Tabaristan & Jurjan provinces, but their coinage was of shorter duration.
